Cost: $ 150 per day / per person ( 2 persons minimum)
DAY 1:Movement skills in the backcountry. Skinning uphill, kick turn, efficiency of movement, downhill
techniques, survival techniques, safety, gear and equipment, use of transceivers, probe and shovel. In
the field all day, full day tour
DAY 2: Decision making – risk management. Understand the process. Of recognizing hazards,
evaluating and analyzing hazards, minimizing risk, managing a group.
In the field, Full day tour.
DAY 3: Skiing techniques: from the good old stem Christy to avalement, convergent step turn, pedal hop
turn. All the techniques needed for ski mountaineering, ski touring, backcountry skiing, managing a group
downhill.
At the resort.
DAY 4: Route selections, route finding, track setting (evening prep session on Feb 4) learn how to plan a
tour: (time management, orienteering, map and compass, GPS)
In the field all day, full day tour.
DAY 5: Peak ascent. A long ski tour, with individual coaching base on each participant need.
In the field all day, full long day tour
Cost include: guide fee / handouts.
Not included: lodging, transport, equipment, food and meals
Equipment: Alpine touring or Telemark ski. Split snowboard
