Everest Base Camp trek, Solo Khumbu to Kala Patthar Trek
Day 1: Arrival in Katmandu. Meeting at the airport and transfer to hotel. Soak the atmosphere or a little while. We will review the upcoming trek, check gear and make final details arrangement.
Day 2: Katmandu sight seeing.Visit this incredible city full of surprises. Boudhanath Stupa, Pashupatinath, Durbar square, monkey temple, Thamel.
Day 3: Flight to Lukla. In the last year flights to Lukla have been transfer to Ramecchap airport. it is a much shorter flight thus safer but it is quite a long drive to the airport. The roads are improving slowly and hotels are being build around the airport. So we will see what options makes more sense. sometime the first flight leave from Kathmandu, helicopters are also available from Kathmandu.
the flight from Kathmandu Takes 30 minutes to Lukla (9,186ft.) then the Treks from Lukla to Phakding (3 – 4 hours). Overnight in Phakding (8,700ft).
Day 4: Treks from Phakding to Namche Bazaar 3,440m. (6 – 7 hours).Beautiful trail along the river, passing many small villages, crossing many suspended bridges. And I final steep trails will lead us to Namche Bazaar the Sherpas Capital.
Day 5: Acclimatization day in Namche Bazaar. Overnight in Namche Bazaar. A full day relaxing, walking the street of this amazing town full of sherpas, porters, climbers, small shops and market, yaks and more.
Day 6: Namche Bazaar to the Sherpa village of Khumjung (4 hours). Visit Khunde Hospital. Overnight in Khumjung (12,500ft).
This village is the home town of many sherpas like my friend Phurba Tashi Sherpa who climbed 22 time Everest (I did climb with him Everest North ridge and Cho Oyu).
Day 7: Sherpas village of Khumjung to Phunki Thenga. Phunki Tenga to Tengboche (6-7 hours). Visit of the temple and night in Tengboche. and walk to Deboche 45 minutes. Overnight in Deboche.
Day 8: From Tengboche to Dingboche (7-8hours). Overnight in Dingboche.A long day walking by Deboche, Pangboche at the base of Ama Dablam to Dingboche.
Day 9: Acclimatization day in Dingboche. A great easy day. Walk to the stupa or for the fittest hike to Chukhung below the Lothse face and on the way to Island peak. Overnight Dingboche.
Day 10: Dingboche to Lobuche. We are now entering the world of high altitude, surrounded by many high peaks. Ama Dablam, Lobuche, Cholatse, Nuptse. Overnight in Lobuche (12,894ft). N.B. Nights get colder now and the effects of altitude will be felt.
Day 11: Lobuche – Gorak Shep – afternoon walk to Kala Patthar at 18,192 ft. with excellent and amazing views of Everest and Pumori. – Gorak Shep (5-6 hours). Overnight Gorak Shep (16,929 ft.).
Day 12: Gorak Shep to Everest Base Camp (17,575 ft) . Return to Lobuche or Periche and overnight there. (6 – 8 hour day).
Day 13: Lobuche / Periche to Phortse. A long trail tuck on the mountain side with great views. overnight in Phortse.
Day 14: Phortse to Namche Bazaar. Beautiful trip back to Namche with views of Ama Dablam, Tamserku.
Day 15: Namche Bazaar to Lukla. Another long day but this time you will recognize the trail as we came up same way.
Day 16: Lukla – Kathmandu . early morning flight to Ramecchap and drive back to Kathmandu.
Day 17: Kathmandu.
Day 18: Kathmandu – connect to International flight

- All meals en route from and to Kathmandu,
All lodging during the trek - Experienced Sherpas guide with necessary number of porters for your trip

- National park entrance fees
- Airport transfers on arrival and departure for international flights

Options: As many people have limited time there is the possibility to hire a helicopter to fly back to Kathmandu. Usually from Namche Bazaar. Please contact me for details.
